Among Idaho's many hidden gems, McCall stands out as a particularly special place, especially during the summer.

The club buzzes with excitement at this time of year as members retreat to our mountain-lake destination for the season. With sunny forecasts, clear skies, and elongated days, the days here are spent out on the lake, golfing and socializing. This is also the time of year to buy and build – and construction is in full swing. With this in mind, we are excited to share the first episode of Behind The Build films, a short series showcasing first-hand home-building experiences from Whitetail Club members and their architects and builders. This month's episode features a 6,173 square foot home that exudes mountain modern.

In addition, we are sharing the latest summer construction update here and our most recent offering, Legacy Ranch here a 365-acre enclave featuring thirty-six homesites ranging from 5 to 21 acres.

As we embrace another extraordinary summer here at Whitetail Club, packed with wellness programs, adrenaline-pumping excursions, eagerly awaited golf tournaments, and family-fun activities, it's important to recap the remarkable spring season we had. Filled with fun outings into the rugged terrain of Idaho, a golf season kick-off, and honing our skills on the pickleball courts, it was an excellent season for our members and their guests. Episode One

The buy and build season is in full swing. It is a time when so many browse our homesites, pick their favorite canvas, and connect with architects and builders to start constructing the Western Idaho mountain home they have dreamt about.

It is a journey that needs inspiration, guidance, and vision. To that end, we wanted to share our Behind The Build series, featuring recent homes built at Whitetail Club. This is where members and their expert teams give the scoop on how they built their home and what the experience was like.

For our first episode, we embark on a journey from dreams to reality, where the Moss family transformed inspirational reference images into a sophisticated architectural structure. Building this mountain modern home amidst the Pacific Northwest's demanding weather conditions required an elevated architectural design approach.

One remarkable architectural technique used was a cold roof diaphragm. This sophisticated building technique is used in regions with heavy snowfall and extended cold weather. By creating a ventilation gap above the insulation layer, the roof's surface stays close to the external air temperature, preventing ice dams from forming at the roof's edge. Multiple components work together to maintain the roof's integrity. The cold roof diaphragm's precise balance of insulation, ventilation, and moisture control ensures a more durable building envelope with long-term protection and peace of mind.

Discover more about the Moss's building process and how their team of architects and builders created this incredible family home at Whitetail Club.
