A Look Back at Summer 2024
The Great Golf Expedition
Our award-winning golf course turned into global runways so the ladies of Whitetail Club and their guest could travel the world at our Great Golf Expedition. From chipping the greens in Australia to driving backswings in Germany, the 2024 Ladies Member Guest tournament spanned three days, fueled by the spirit of travel.
During our expedition, we stopped to appreciate the journey with a Zen-filled sushi dinner that transported us to the Land of the Rising Sun and a fiesta-flared, Spaniard-themed awards luncheon. It was a first-class experience for our globetrotting golfers.
Rolling Thunder
McCall is bursting with unspoiled terrain and rugged landscapes fit for exploration. Not to be outdone, the area's powerful waterways offer adventures of another type that are equally adrenaline-worthy… white water rapids. Whitetail Club members experienced river rafting down the iconic Salmon River, also known as the "River of No Return," in partnership with Drift West, a local outfitter based in McCall.
Equipped with paddles, life vests, and helmets, we dropped into Class III rapids, suitable for beginners and avid rafters alike, to navigate rip-roaring waters. A riverside lunch ensured our members were fueled up with the energy needed to conquer the currents.
King of the Course
Adorned in club armor, the valiant knights of Whitetail Club set out to claim the throne and earn the title of King of the Course at the 2024 Men's Invitational.
Spanning a royal affair of four days, our knights fought bravely on the course, embarking on various side-quests during their journey, including a medieval cocktail reception, a regal queen of hearts luncheon, and a high-stakes players-only casino and cards event. Their noble matters concluded at The Fish & Swim Club with a celebratory dinner to honor and crown our new King(s) of the Course.
Talking 'Bout my Generation
Which generation has the best music is debatable. One thing is for certain – the best music is the one all generations know. Which is why we reeled in the years for a night of old-school hits at our Summer Concert featuring Generation Radio.
Led by three kings of music, Jason Scheff of Chicago, Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts, and Steve Ferrone of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers came together to pay tribute to the music that shaped our lives. Instead of a Saturday in the Park, we spent Saturday night on stage, celebrating the power of music.
Uncorked
After a summer of countless golf tournaments, days on the lake, and outdoor excursions, one thing was for sure…we needed a wine-down. Our Members Only Wine Dinner at our lakefront clubhouse featured Long Shadows from Walla Walla.
Experiencing some of the finest wines from Washington's largest wine region, Columbia Valley, our members got to enjoy a five-course Pacific Northwest-inspired dinner, prepared by Whitetail Club’s incredible culinary team, each paired with wines from Long Shadows' award-winning Vintners' Collection.
A Golden Opportunity
Less crowds, falling leaves, and more peaceful waters are some features of the fall that bring more tranquility to the region. One location that showcases this change is the Payette River Scenic Byway. So, our members set out to experience this golden opportunity on our first-ever Fall Foliage Canoe Ride.
We paddled along the North Fork of Payette River with the occasional spotting of local wildlife. Halfway through our journey, we took a moment to appreciate the views with a glass of wine and small bites before we made it back to Whitetail Club.
